Best Mascara Updates
We like to keep you up to date when we find a new favourite mascara because mascara is one of the most difficult makeup products to shop for. There are quite a few good ones out there but all to often this department fails us. It's practically impossible to find one that ticks all boxes. I personally like to have one or two that are suitable for the evening and the rest for more subtle day wear. We're trying out a few at the moment so when we have tested them all, we will do an updated favourites lists. In the meantime, two we are loving right now are Lancome Hypnose Volume and Estee Lauder Sumptuous Bold Volume Lifting Mascara.
It won't come as any surprise to most of you that we like the Lancome Hypnose Mascara, as it is popular opinion that this mascara is one of the best. As we have said before, it isn't easy to find an all round good mascara. Well, this is one of the exceptions due to its very buildable formula, so you can apply one or two layers for daytime and build it up for a more dramatic evening look. The SoftSculpt™ formula and PowerFull™ brush allows you to build up your layers with ease and more importantly, without clumping. It gets in between the lashes (the brush is quite thin) and coats each one to give great volume and thickness. It's also a smudge proof formula so there is no transfer to the lids. Another big pro for this mascara is how easily it removes at night with your makeup remover. You're not left with traces of it on your pillow case. Overall, this is one of the best mascaras that will remain on our favourites list.
The Estee Lauder Bold Volume Lifting Mascara is another beautiful mascara that again offers lots of volume but with a weightless formula so it feels light on your lashes. It's quite clever really being able to pull off all the benefits of full lifting plump lashes with an ultra light formula. It makes it a great mascara for those with sparse lashes. No clumps or smudginess with this one either and it removes easily at the end of the day (we look out for these qualities in a mascara). I would say that this one is perhaps a little more natural looking than the Lancome one so much better for those who prefer a subtle day time look. With only one or two coats, it makes you look like you just have fabulous healthy natural lashes. This mascara is quite a good one at curling your lashes. The wand is thicker at the bottom so when you are applying it to the middle of your lashes, the thicker end is picking up and coating the outer lashes.
If you are currently shopping around for a new mascara, we would recommend you give one of these a try.
