Dermalogica Skin Hydrating Booster

There are times when your skin needs an extra boost of hydration and your regular moisturiser on it's own isn't enough. However, playing around with different moisturisers doesn't always work either because you end up buying something that becomes too rich once your skin has settled back to it's normal state. For these occasions, I find that a concentrated booster to your otherwise perfect moisturiser will always do the trick.

This usually happens in the winter when the moisturiser that you have been using all summer is not intense enough for the rougher winter months. But this can also happen at any time of the year when your skin has perhaps been through the mill, with stress or lack of sleep. So having one of these on hand is priceless and they last so long because you are only using a few drops each time.

My favourite concentrate is Clarins Blue Orchid Face Treatment Oil (for dehydrated skin - see our review here) but I find this works best at night as it is an oil. If I use it in the morning, it is too rich to go under my makeup causing it to slip. So for daytime I have been using Dermalogica Skin Hydrating Booster which is more of a fluid than an oil. It is packed with Hyaluronic Acid (2nd ingredient) to give your skin a perfect moisture boost without leaving it oily. It soaks in really well.

This booster is perfect for when you just need a moisture boost and not any other fancy ingredients that may upset your skins condition. Use 6 to 10 and massage it into the skin prior to your moisturiser or if you prefer (which I do) mix it with your moisturiser between your fingers and then apply it.

So next time your skin needs a little help in the hydration department, think about a skin hydrating booster before you start looking for a new moisturiser.

The Dermalogica Skin Hydrating Booster is priced at £52.70/$56.
