David Bowie: The Last Five Years
On the 7th January, days before the 1st anniversary of the death of musician David Bowie, BBC Two will air a programme looking back at the life of the singer over his last five years. The documentary will examine Bowie's past and the inspirations that led to his music. It's not about his personal life, it's very much David Bowie the artist. But it does promise some rare unseen footage, including the original vocal for Lazarus which was his last release before his death. The film is produced and directed by Francis Whately as a follow up to David Bowie: Five Years which was shown in 2013.
The documentary will focus on Bowie's three major projects in the last five years, bestselling albums The Next Day and Blackstar and his musical Lazarus.
This is sure to be one hell of a tribute to one of the music industry's greatest icons.
