Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer
I've gone back to an old favourite of mine in terms of concealer. The Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer. I probably would never have moved away from it had it not been for the gorgeous By Terry Terrybly Densiliss Concealer which I purchased in tandem with the By Terry Terrybly Densiliss Foundation (an absolute creme de la creme of foundation - if you want to know more about these product, read our review here).
The By Terry concealer is a beautiful (although ridiculously expensive) product. It blends seamlessly into your skin and does all it needs to do. But the formulation is quite fluid and I find it takes a bit more work to blend it in. The other problem I had with it is that the colour I bought matches to the colour of my foundation and I prefer my concealer to be one or two shades lighter than my foundation so that it also highlights the under eye area.
So, basically what happened was that I ran out of my By Terry concealer and I wasn't going to be out at the shops any time soon so I bought online the Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer in Chantilly, which is the one I had before and I knew I liked it. I had just forgotten how much I liked it. This is a top rated and very popular concealer and for good reason. It hides a multitude and at the same time adds brightness to the under eye area. I particularly love the application of this concealer, due to it's creamy thick consistency (but still lightweight), you literally takes the wand, swipe it under the eye and tab it in until its blended. It is important that you pat it in rather than rub it in. This product is so good it pats in effortlessly. It has the right amount of coverage and crucially it doesn't sit in fine lines and wrinkles or cake in dry areas. Dark circles, redness, blemishes, this will hide it all. I know some people who have particularly dark circles around their eyes use a corrector first before their concealer but I honestly believe this one is a great corrector and concealer in one.
As I like to use a lighter shade for my under eye area, I can't use the same one for around my nose area or my chin so I'm afraid I have to have two on the go (although I am considering trying the Nars Soft Matte Complete Concealer for my nose, chin etc) but if you're happy to use the same shade as your foundation then you're good with one. When applying it, you don't actually need a lot of product. I've often found myself applying too much only to end up wasting it, so start of with little and build it up if you need to. You can of course use a sponge or brush to blend it in but I find you waste some of the product by doing this and it is so easy to blend that your finger is the best tool (and this is coming from someone who uses the beauty blender to blend everything - I sometimes blend out the very edges with my sponge, particularly if I have applied too much product but that's it).
Concealer can be a tricky product to shop for, so if you want to try something new or you are not happy with your current concealer, then Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer is a great one. It has a wide range of colours to suit all skin tones. It costs £24.
