Charlotte Tilbury Goddess Skin Clay Mask
I love a good pampering just as much as the next person. Those nights when you take extra time to cleanse (which of course you should always do), exfoliate the dead skin cells and then apply a face mask and lie back in the bath or on your bed and flick through a magazine for 10 or 15 minutes until the mask works its wonders. I have my favourite cleansers, exfoliators and moisturisers (including a special 3 night a week night cream). But when it comes to masks I never know which ones to get. There are mud masks for deep cleansing (which I love the thought of), masks for extra moisture boost (which I need for my dehydrated skin) and masks to create a fabulous glow (which we all want).
Charlotte Tilbury's Goddess Skin Clay Mask promises to do all of the above and so I was very keen to try it. This has now become my go to face mask twice a week. I absolutely love it. I had watched a few makeup videos by Charlotte where she started with applying this mask to cleansed skin and left it for 10 minutes before removing it and then going in with moisturiser and her primer, foundation etc. This is the perfect ritual to do before a special occasion when you want (and need) your makeup to last all day and give you maximum glow. I loved the idea of using the mask in this way.
Having said that, it isn't something I do very often as I prefer to relax and pamper my skin at night before I go to bed. So twice a week, I will cleanse, exfoliate to remove the dead skin cells and allow my mask to fully penetrate the skin for maximum results. Charlotte Tilbury's Goddess Skin Clay Mask is one of the best all round masks. You don't have to compromise on specific results. This mask will first and foremost leave your skin with a gorgeous dewy glow and therefore well moisturised (despite it's clay consistency), so it is not at all drying (good for dry and dehydrated skin types). It draws out impurities in the skin for a deep cleanse, improves the elasticity of your skin and tightens pores.. This mask leaves your skin feeling super soft (like Charlotte says 'Baby Skin'). And if you are into your scents, this one has a beautiful rose scented fragrance.
The mask doesn't harden on your face, like many other clay ones, so it is easy to remove with a hot flannel. I would highly recommend this product and if like me, you want an all round mask to do everything from deep cleansing to leaving you with a radiant glow, then this is the one!
