Clinique Chubby Stick™ Sculpting Highlight

I rather like the Clinique Chubby Stick™ Sculpting Highlight. It's compact, very portable and subtle. This wouldn't be the highlighter for those who like to glow from quite a distance but if you're more of a subtle sheen type of girl, then this could be the one for you.

Makeup that comes in stick form is having a moment with me currently. I love the concept of drawing a quick line, smudge it in and I'm good to go. It's perfect for mornings when you have a small window to apply your makeup, which I'm sure is the case for many women. You need quick tools that will get the job done in the best possible way.

This is certainly the case for the Clinique Chubby Stick Sculpting Highlight. I used to find that when I was applying my makeup in a hurry, one of the things that always got omitted was highlighter because if something had to go it was usually this, which didn't please me. A subtle swipe of highlighter above the cheeks and down the centre of your nose makes such a difference especially when the light hits those areas. But since I bought this highlighter, it literally takes seconds to apply and if all else fails I pop it in my handbag and apply it when I get to work or on the way to work (if you aren't driving).

The Clinique Chubby Stick Sculpting Highlight has a luminous cream formula with a pink tone and a swivel up applicator so no need for sharpening. It leaves the perfect amount of shimmer in highlighted areas but you can build it up for a more intense finish. I usually apply it from the applicator and blend it in with my fingers but if you prefer (and have more time) you could apply it with a brush for a more precise and controlled finish. But as always remember to start subtle and build it up from there. Don't go in heavy handed!

I personally don't like going over the top with highlighter during the day, preferring the subtle glow look with a hint of shimmer. I find myself reaching for this one most days. It costs £19.50.
