Oskia Renaissance Cleansing Gel
Cleansers are there to do a job, to remove makeup, spf and generally remove all the dirt and grime from the day or gathered overnight. So a basic gentle good cleanser is all you need. However, every now and again a great cleanser comes along that goes over and above the line of duty and does more than just cleansing. And sometimes this is what you want and need.
It's no secret, if you are a regular reader of my articles, that I am a huge fan and regular user of Clinique Take The Day Off cleansers. They are exactly what you want to remove your makeup/spf, gentle, unfragranced and very effective. However, I felt that I was lacking the right cleanser for my second cleanse and morning cleanse. I had been using Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing cream but didn't quite feel like it was the best cleanser for this purpose. These cleansers are more designed to take your makeup off (as the name suggests) but I felt like I was missing something for my second cleanse. I wanted a product that was going to clean my skin following removal of makeup.
So, after much research and trying a few I didn't like, I found Oskia Renaissance Cleansing Gel. This cleanser is one of the most illuminating cleansers I have ever used. It brightens your skin and leaves it glowing immediately, so much so that I prefer to use it in the morning as this is exactly how I want my skin to look first thing in the morning. It is a great second cleanse at night also, I just prefer to use it in the morning.
It's not a foam cleanser (I don't like these), it's a light weight gel consistency that melts into your skin to an oil so you can massage it in for a few minutes. It's such a nourishing cleanser that leaves your skin clean and fresh and so soft. Containing Vitamins A, C & E, Omega 6, Starflower Oil, Pumpkin Enzymes, Chamomile & Rose, this cleanser is doing more than just removing dirt and grime, it also removes dead skin cells and improves the texture of your skin.
It's a beautiful cleanser. Much too good to use as a makeup remover (although it can be used for this purpose), I prefer to get the full benefit from it by using it to clean my skin after I have removed my makeup. It's a bit more pricey than I would usually advocate to spend on a cleanser but it is worth it because you feel like you are getting more than just a cleanse. It costs £29.50 and is available at spacenk.com.
