Burberry Exhibition At September Show
Burberry has announced a twist to their September 2017 show. Taking place at their new show space Old Sessions House, London, Burberry will show their new collection along with an exclusive art exhibition showcasing British photography. The exhibition 'Here We Are' is curated by Christopher Bailey (the brand's president and chief creative officer) and Lucy Moore and will be displayed over the three storey space, exploring British way of life from photographers such as Dafydd Jones, Martin Parr, Ken Russell, Shirley Baker and Alasdair McLellan (who has also been announced as the latest Burberry creative collaborator).
"When we started thinking about curating Here We Are, I knew I wanted it to celebrate a certain strand of British photography that I've always loved: one which documents the many and varied tribes and clans and classes that make up this island of ours," said Bailey in Burberry's Instagram post. "It's the spirit of those photographs – sometimes ironic, sometimes tender, but always truthful – that has guided our September collection."
The show will be the first under the brand's new management structure, which saw Marco Gobbetti arrive from Céline to take over as CEO from Bailey, allowing him to resume full creative duties.
'Here We Are' is open to the public 18 September - 1 October.
