Adidas Original Tubular Rise
Evolution is paramount. Exposed rims and a softer midsole take the tubular flagship from Adidas to a new level.
Ok, we admit it, we are sneakers ( trainers ) obsessives here at Laundry. And no brand encapsulates that more than Adidas. Ground-breaking designs, materials and technology with brands such as tubular, athletics, Stella McCartney and of course the awesome Y3. And with the originals and spezials series, the look back to the old is cool in a way only the brand with 3 stripes can attain due to it's heritage both in sport and fashion terms.
Last week saw the launch of the latest tubular collection with an awesome video as well. Check it out:
The tubular collection is not for the ordinary and not for, well training in, although they will do it, let's be honest these are fashion cool rather than track cool. The design is a fusion of their famed tubular '93 runners and an updated, fresh style. These trainers take a classic and revamp them for modern tastes to compete with their contemporaries. The two-tone knit upper and contemporary wrap-around style is very popular at the moment making them one of the most popular trainers for staying fresh. The thick, rubber sole means that they stay comfortable even when you're on your feet all day. The enclosed boot style prevents rubbing and chafing and the specialised sock lining stops blisters from forming. Yes, so they are very comfortable, like wearing a pair of big comfy socks. And not overpriced at around €130.00 depending on the style.
But they look cool, so comfort aside whether you go for low, mid or high lines these are our favourite modern cool designs from Adidas at the moment.
Our new favourites in the AW17 collection are the awesomely titled Tubular X 2.0 Shoes. These are basketball inspired high top tubular with a sock like upper. Did we mention they are cool ? Making possible what was impossible in the '90s, these Tubular shoes modernise a retro, high-top basketball look. These shoes get updated with an ultra-comfy adidas Primeknit upper with a sock-like fit. An X-shaped panel wraps the forefoot to hug the ankle. The outsole has a tyre-inspired design. They come in three color themes, Green Night /Tactile Yellow /Chalk White ( Our fav ) and Grey One /Grey Three /Crystal White ( Yes, crystal white ) and a third option Core Black/Utility Black ( That's black to you and us.)
"So yes we have 3 stripe love in the studio and the tubular range is future cool proof!"
Thanks to the awesome people at Adidas for the press info and images - such a cool brand.
