The Bobbi Brown Extra Glow Collection

After all the strong prominent makeup looks of the festive season, I have been craving a fresh dewy face with lots of glow. Perhaps because of increased sugar intake last month and the awful effects this had on my skin of redness, blotchiness and the odd breakout, I want radiance back into my face. It has helped that I have cut the sugar intake well back again. The next best trick is to apply makeup that will create this look for you (It doesn't come naturally anymore I'm afraid).

I have a few products hanging around my makeup bag that will help me out but Bobbi Brown's new Extra Glow Collection caught my eye with great enthusiasm.

Firstly, is there Extra Illuminating Moisture Balm, with new shades added.

This best selling luminising moisture balm gives instant glow with pearl particles and a boost of hydration. It brings dull complexions back to natural radiance. It can be worn alone on bare skin as a moisturiser or layered over your skincare for extra hydration and as a primer base with a touch of concealer where needed, if you are not interested in foundation right now (quite often the case for me when I am not going out). And of course you can use it as your primer before foundation. Then, if you want further glow, it can be patted over your foundation on the top of your cheekbones, centre of the nose or any other areas you want to highlight. It comes in three shades; Bare, Pink Glow and Golden Glow and costs £44.50.

Then, they have their limited edition Extra Glow Skincare Palette, which I love for it's multi-purpose uses. It's a trio of nourishing skincare formulas for glow-on-the-go.

Apply the Face Oil onto the high points of your face for a fresh luminous finish or where you need extra moisture. Smooth the Extra Soothing Balm on dry patches or pat it over your makeup on the high points of your cheekbones for extra glow. The Skin Salve is perfect for dry chapped skin, particularly the lips. What I love about this palette is that you don't have to change your makeup to get the glowing face you want to create, simply add these products before or over makeup to create the desired effect. It's also a great product to carry in your handbag for top ups during the day, especially if you sit in an office with the central heating pumping out and drying out your carefully created glow from that morning.

If you prefer an instant high impact glow, then the Highlighting Powder is the one for you.

Dust this limited edition silky, light-reflective powder in Opal Glow onto the high points of your face, the usual highlighting areas, the top of your cheekbones, down the centre of your nose and on the brow bone. It costs £35.50.

And to finish off with a luminous lip, try Bobbi Brown's Extra Lip Tint.

This lip tint is a beautiful product and a sure rest from the intense red lip we have all been wearing recently. It offers super hydration with a hint of sheer colour (I love Bare Melon). The best part is that each shade blends in with your natural lip colour so it offers a unique colour to each person. There are lots of skincare benefits to this lip tint as well as the colour and even gives you a fuller lip.
