Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Highlighter

I've been wanting the Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Highlighter for so long. It has been in my mental wishlist but I was reluctant to buy it because I had three or four highlighting products in my makeup stash and I knew that I wouldn't even look at them once I bought Becca, so convinced I was that I would love it (in case you don't want to read any further, I did!). I don't like wasting things but at the same time you can get bored of using the same thing all the time, unless you are absolutely in love with it.

I have been a huge fan of Lisa Eldridge for a number of years and if you are also, you will know this product and you will know that Lisa has been using (and singing the praises) of it for a very long time (in fact she recently said that she has been using it for fifteen years). I will be surprised if I'm not still using it in fifteen years! So, I recently wondered why I was depriving myself of a much wanted product that was highly recommended by a well respected makeup artist. As a side note, I always have my eye on makeup products that I want to try and they come and go on my beauty wishlist. The Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Highlighter has remained on it since I first put it in, so I thought it was time I moved it from my wishlist to my top five makeup products of all time (again so convinced I was that I would love it - remind me again why I took so long to buy it - oh yeah, I didn't want to offend my other highlighters).

My opinion on this product is none other than perfection. I would have been so disappointed if I hadn't liked it. I didn't doubt for a second that I would but I would say, if it's possible, that it still managed to exceed my expectations. This highlighter adds the most perfect glow to your skin on the high points of your face (tops of cheekbones and the bridge of your nose) in the most natural way possible. It blends seamlessly into your skin to make it look like you have natural radiance rather than make you look like you are wearing highlighter. Simply dab it onto your skin and use a flat foundation brush or the beauty blender to blend it in. It is worth taking your time to blend it in to create the perfect skin. I apply my foundation and under-eye concealer and then go straight in with the Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Highlighter before I do anything else. If I want to add a little bit more at the end of my makeup look I will but I don't always need to. I love this product so much that I use it every single day that I wear makeup. Before, if I was doing a minimal makeup look for a casual day, I would quite often skip highlighter (especially if time was a constraint). But I haven't missed it yet since I bought this highlighter. It just makes your skin look so natural. I guess if you wanted to you could add a drop to your foundation for a subtle all over glow but I prefer to use it on top of foundation to create glow at the high points of my face.

The only thing I would say to those who like their highlighter the 'Fenty' way, this is probably not for you. I am all about the natural glow when it comes to makeup, not how far away I can be spotted.

The Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Highlighter costs £34 and it comes in seven shades (I use Pearl which is great on fair skin tones). It's a very lightweight liquid formula and gives the perfect airbrush finish.
