New Chanel Coco Mademoiselle Intense
Chanel Coco Mademoiselle and Chanel Allure are my two favourite fragrances ever. I alternate between them because it is difficult to decide which one I prefer. I fall in love with each one all over again when I haven't used it in a few months, which is why I love alternating them.
So, when I saw that Chanel brought out Coco Mademoiselle Intense, I didn't know what to expect. I didn't know if I would be disappointed or if I would wonder why bring out the same perfume in a more intense scent. I was almost frightened to try it because of my true love for the original fragrance. But that was just never going to happen. I don't know how the hell they did it but the Chanel Coco Mademoiselle Intense is exactly what can only be described as the 'Intense' version of the original Coco Mademoiselle.
It is absolutely gorgeous. It still keeps very much the underlying scent of Coco Mademoiselle but it has been intensified and takes on a slightly more sweet finish, which I love in a perfume. To achieve this, Chanel's perfumer Olivier Polge combined a higher proportion of patchouli leaves alongside ambery tonka bean and vanilla. The word intense doesn't mean that it is a stronger deeper fragrance, it is just taking the original Coco Mademoiselle and intensifying it. You'll know what I mean when you smell it.
In the words of Chanel:
"Coco Mademoiselle Intense is the determination and character of Coco, the mischief and seduction of Mademoiselle and a new olfactory expression."
So, the big question is will Coco Mademoiselle Intense replace my Coco Mademoiselle?
And the answer is, absolutely. I don't say this lightly because I have had a bottle of the original perfume on my dressing table (alternating with Allure, that is) for the past 10 years, or possibly more. I'm addicted to this new Intense version already, I've fallen in love all over again and I'm so happy that I have found a new favourite perfume for the first time in over 10 years. I love it when that happens. And I didn't have to look too far to find it.
