Gucci's 'Chime For Change' Campaign With Beyonce
Chime For Change is a global campaign founded by Gucci in 2013 to unite and strengthen the voices speaking out for girls and women around the world. The campaign uses innovative approaches to promote gender equality.
To mark World Water Day, Gucci and Chime For Change announced a new Partnership with Beyoncé and UNICEF USA to bring clean, safe water to the children of Burundi, something that we take wholly for granted. Burundi is one of the most densely populated countries in Africa with nearly half of the population lacking access to clean, safe drinking water.
Gucci’s $1 million commitment to the project will help support the building of 80 wells, providing clean, safe water to more than 120,000 women, girls and their families. The program touches upon the three pillars of Gucci’s Chime For Change campaign - Education, Health and Justice - to create positive change for girls and women around the world. Globally, girls and women spend around 200 million hours every day gathering water. For many girls and women, access to clean, safe water is the foundation for equality.
