Top 5 High Street Picks

We've been enjoying some decent weather in the UK this last few weeks and despite the rainfall we are getting temperatures that warrant full summer attire, t-shirts or vests with no need for a jacket (excluding a raincoat now and again to stay dry), short skirts and dresses and sandals. I actually enjoy sitting outdoors in the garden when the sun isn't out but it is warm enough to sit out and read a book or enjoy a drink and a chat with a friend. Usually we are grabbing a cardigan the minute the sun disappears behind a cloud. So, for now, I am making the most of it, because it certainly won't last. And that's not me being a pessimist, just a realist!

When I haven't been in the garden, I have been shopping for a few summer treats to wear in this warm weather:

FREE PEOPLE Ocean Side Blue Crochet Mini Dress, £90
This is the perfect summer dress. It's casual enough to be worn during the day but it also has enough detail that it can be dressed up for an evening look. You could easily wear this to a garden party during the day and then head off to the pub later in it. A short denim jacket over it looks great.

RIVER ISLAND Pink Floral Embellished Bralet Top, £35
A cami is a wardrobe staple in the summer, to show off your tanned shoulders. This one will team great with a pair of white trousers or black/blue jeans and it would look fabulous with the shorts below from Mango.

MANGO High Waist Shorts, £35.99
A statement pair of shorts, beautiful summer colour and tailored to keep things looking smart. The high waisted trouser theme continues into summer.

WHISTLES Liberte T-shirt, £49
A simple t-shirt is another must for summer, and to keep in line with current trends, choose one with a slogan. Loving this one!

KURT GEIGER Carvela Bravo in Nude, £49
Warm weather definitely calls for flat summer sandals and if you can't do totally flat, there is just enough of a heel on these to give you a little elevation without feeling like you are wearing heels, which off course you're not.
