Dior Spring/Summer 2019 Show
Elegance, romance and the beauty of dance was in full swing at the Dior Spring/Summer 2019 show in Paris this week. Ballet dancers, choreographed by Israeli Sharon Eyal and wearing tights and bodysuits designed by Dior, weaved in and out of the models as they walked the runway.
As the first female designer to lead Christian Dior, Maria Grazia Chiuri has taken the brand from old-school femininity to modern femininity with her collections. This was very much evident in free flowing dresses, stretch material (not corsets), racer-back vests, clothing that women are very much wearing, rather the clothes wearing the women. For Chiuri, it is about keeping elegance within the range without the stiffness, making the clothes comfortable and wearable.
A beautiful serene and exhilarating show to watch, with a collection to mirror this. A far cry cry from the pop tunes and DJ mixes that we are used to seeing/hearing. Watch the show below:
