Laura Mercier Flawless Lumière Radiance-Perfecting Foundation
When I find a foundation that I love I stick with it for so long that I don’t even consider others. Which is a bit of a flaw because it means I don’t get my beauty junkie fix in this department. However, I have tried so many in the past to get the right ones for me. I currently have two different ones on the go, one for day time and one more medium/full coverage for evening or all day events.
My day time one has been Laura Mercier Candleglow which I have been enjoying for almost two years now. It is very lightweight and you would barely know that you had any foundation on your face, it just creates what I love as beautifully looking skin. It evens out skin tone and covers mild blemishes and imperfections. It is very fluid which can make it slightly more difficult to apply, something that I might add never bothered me before, but is one of the reasons I decided to experiment with others. The other reason being, I wanted something with (only a little) more coverage. I still don’t have much to cover on my face but I felt that a foundation with a bit more coverage would leave me feeling a little more ‘finished’.
I didn’t stray too far though as I opted to try the new foundation from Laura Mercier (I trust this brand), the Flawless Lumière Radiance-Perfecting Foundation and it delivered exactly what I wanted. It offers more coverage, although I still only apply a thin layer (two pumps is enough for me) as I prefer no more than a medium coverage during the day. This foundation is more luminous that the Candleglow, which I didn’t expect to see (despite being told). Candleglow does have a luminosity to it but it is more of a glow, as the name suggests, whereas the Flawless Lumière Radiance-Perfecting Foundation has a definite luminous finish, which is perfect for my dehydrated skin. It is not as fluid as Candleglow, although is still lightweight, and covers more imperfections, leaving your skin truly flawless (again as the name suggests - but we don’t always trust the marketing spin - in this case do!). So you get a lightweight foundation that offers medium to full coverage but still feels like a second skin.
Anything that offers extra hydration, either in the skincare or makeup department, is a winner for me. I love to layer hydrating products. The Laura Mercier Flawless Lumière Radiance-Perfecting Foundation offers up to 15 hours of hydration and I can vouch for that.
I apply it with either my fingers or a flat foundation brush, depending on my mood (and if my brush needs washing or not!).
A fabulous foundation that no doubt will stay with me for the foreseeable future.
